Integrated Massage

I have been trained in a variety of different massage methods and enjoy combining a variety of techniques into a session. The massage session is designed to meet the goals and needs of the client.  This is the type of massage most of my clients receive.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is what most people think about when they think of massage.  Generally, the basic massage strokes such as gliding, kneading, compression, rocking and friction are used for a relaxing massage.  Joint movement and stretching techniques may be included.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy

This form of bodywork deals directly with the lymphatic system and increasing the flow of lymphatic fluid either in a specific area or throughout the whole body.  This approach is applied with very light pressure to stimulate the body's natural lymphatic drainage.

Myofascial Release

Fascia or connective tissue are the most abundant tissue in the body and it supports, separates and provides structure for the human body.  Myofascial release or connective tissue massage addresses this tissue when it gets tight or bound up.   The pressure of this type of bodywork is generally light, but there are times when the pressure is increased to reach deeper connective tissue structures.

Craniosacral Therapy

This is a gentle form of bodywork focused on the releasing the deeper connective tissue structures that envelope the central nervous system.  The goal of Craniosacral Therapy is to aid the body's natural healing process.  The amount of pressure is generally very light and performed for a long time.  A few of the ailments that can be helped with Craniosacral Therapy are TMJ syndrome, migraine or other types of headaches, inner ear problems and releasing some of the underlying causes of some chronic disorders.

Deep Tissue or Rehabilitative Massage

This type of massage tends to be more focused on a specific area or problem.   The pressure may be increased to release some of the deeper muscles or connective tissue structures.  Ice applications may be recommended when this type of massage is done.

Athletic Massage

The goal is to help the client improve performance, aid recovery, and to help rehabilitate from an injury.  This therapy uses a combination of techniques such as stretching techniques or compression focused on a particular muscle group of the body to increase freedom of movement.

Energy Work

It is a simple and powerful method of natural healing that activates, balances and increases the life force that is within every living being. We are all born with the natural ability to take in and use this energy to grow mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The trained practitioner knows how to restore and balance this energy to help the body to heal itself.

Hot Stone Massage

An intense, yet deeply relaxing massage using smooth, soothing basalt stones that transfer heat deep into the muscles for a magnificent tension release.  One and one half hour treatment

Chair or On Site Massage

This type of massage is performed in a massage chair and is generally 10 or 15 minutes.  Chair massage is done with the client fully clothed.  The massage chair can be brought to a client's workplace, event or a family gathering.
